There’s no easy way to install a transmission temperature sensor into a 2013+ Dodge Ram 6.7 Cummins with a 68RFE. We found that out when we were doing modifications to one recently and wanted to install this sensor.
That was the motivation for the latest installation accessory to be added to the GlowShift lineup. Here’s our Transmission Cooler Thermal Bypass Sensor Adapter for the 2013+ Dodge Ram 6.7 Cummins 68RFE.
This Cummins transmission adapter kit makes it easy to install a temperature or even a pressure sensor on the hot and cold side of the transmission without having to cut into the factory lines and adding a T-Fitting. This is great for any driver who doesn’t want to make major changes to their Ram truck. Not to mention it’ll save you a lot of time on the install.
These are complete Cummins adapter kits with (2) 1/8-27 NPT Ports for compatible sensors, (2) Quick Disconnect Fittings and a 1/8-27 NPT Plug. It’s made out of billet aluminum so it’s built to be durable and long lasting when you add it to your Dodge. Just keep in mind that it only works with 6.7 Cummins 68RFE transmissions.
We include instructions that walk you through the process. Basically you gotta loosen the (2) hard transmission line fittings. Then release the retaining clips and remove the stock thermostat plate from the truck. Next, push the factory lines Into the Quick Disconnects and make sure they are fully seated. Then thread the (2) hard transmission line fittings into the adapter and tighten. Finally, thread your sensor or sensors into the Cummins transmission adapter and tighten.
With that, your Transmission Cooler Thermal Bypass Sensor Adapter for the 2013+ Dodge Ram 6.7 Cummins 68RFE will be good to go. You’ll have access to transmission temperature or pressure readings without the steps that come with cutting wires and adding a T-Fitting. You can also remove it and switch it back to factory anytime you want.
