Ever run into snags installing an aftermarket oil cooler kit in your 7.3 Powerstroke? Boy, we have. Doing some modifications to these Ford trucks we noticed there’s no simple way to get the install done.
The answer is an oil cooler adapter plate, but it isn’t always easy to find a reliable one. So we set out to make an oil cooler adapter ourselves with the right thread size for this Powerstroke. Check out what we developed at GlowShift with our Oil Cooler Sandwich Adapter for the 7.3 Powerstroke.
GlowShift's oil cooler sandwich plate adapter is made specifically for the 1994-2003 model years. By having a truck here at our garage we were able to make sure all of the specs were completely accurate. You can use it on any 7.3 Powerstroke in this year range.
Each oil cooler sandwich adapter is manufactured using billet aluminum and engineered so you won’t have to relocate the oil filter or tap into other oil sources. Thread right into the oil filter mounting location, and then thread a new oil filter into the adapter. It’s that simple, and you’ll save time and effort on installation.
Our oil cooler adapter has a 1-1/2-16 Thread, 3/8-18 NPT Oil Feed & Return Thread Size, and (2) 1/8-27 NPT Ports. It comes with (2) AN-10 Fittings and a Dual O-Ring Gasket for the install. There are (2) Flush Mount Port Plugs for when you’re not using either of the ports.
Get an aftermarket oil cooler kit installed to any 1994-2003 7.3 Powerstroke truck in no time. Before you know it you’ll be monitoring readouts and making sure temperature ranges are exactly where they should be.
