GlowShift Exhaust Back Pressure Gauges are critical for any turbo diesel that has undergone aftermarket tuning to generate more power. We recommend them primarily for diesel trucks but this even applies to cars that have been modified for higher output.

The motor of any overhauled application is going to produce higher exhaust pressure readings. Depending on the amount of aftermarket mods, we have 60 PSI and 100 PSI exhaust pressure gauges available. The 60 PSI version will cover most standard upgrades. The 100 PSI exhaust manifold pressure gauge is for big turbo builds and other trucks that have been seriously modified.

Monitoring exhaust pressure is critical to avoid overboosting, which could damage the turbo and lead to a blown head gasket. The goal is to get an exhaust pressure-to-boost pressure ratio of 1:1. This isn’t easy to do, but you want to get as close to that number as possible.

When this ratio is out of balance, the turbocharger works less efficiently. If the drive pressure exceeds this ratio, your application will be pushing the turbo too hard and a backup of gasses could cause significant damage.

Each exhaust back pressure gauge kit comes with parts for installation including a 1/8-27 NPT Electronic Pressure Sensor, 5’ of 1/4” Copper Cooling Tubing and (2) Sets of 1/8-27 NPT Compression Fittings. Install the sensor to the exhaust manifold for readings delivered directly from the source.

You can also select a GlowShift Gauge Series which defines the look of your exhaust gas pressure gauge. Choose between an ultra-bright analog or digital LED display, or a Double Vision™ gauge which incorporates both. You can also select a black or white gauge dial, clear or tinted magnified lens, and multiple color options for the display.
