Best Boost/Vacuum Gauges
For gas powered vehicles with stock turbos, the most commonly used automotive boost gauges are 15 PSI and 30 PSI boost/vacuum gauges. There are some gas vehicles that may produce higher boost pressure levels and require a car boost gauge or truck boost gauge with a higher PSI. Why Do I Need A Boost Gauge?
A vent boost gauge is optimal for any car or truck that has a turbo or supercharger installed. Both produce boost, and having a boost pressure gauge will help you make sure they are working correctly. Overbuilt pressure -- when your vehicle is producing too much boost -- can lead to piston and engine failure. A potential cause of overboosting is a faulty waste gate. Underpressure can be caused by injector failure or a damaged compressor wheel. One of the many other benefits of having this analog or digital boost gauge is determining if you have boost leaks when pressure doesn’t build. GlowShift vacuum boost gauge line kits have ranges from -30 inHG to 15 PSI, -30 inHG to 30 PSI, and -30 inHG to 45 PSI. Boost gauge ranges include 0 to 20 PSI, 0 to 35 PSI, 0 to 60 PSI and 0 to 100 PSI which are recommended mainly for diesels. Vehicles that use a vent boost gauge kit include cars with aftermarket modifications for racing, recreational trucks, and trucks that tow heavy loads over long distances.
Diesel Boost Gauge Line Kits
If you’re running low boost applications or an older turbo diesel that doesn’t demand a lot of power, the 20 PSI all in one Boost Gauge was made for you. If you are a diesel driver with a mostly stock truck, you will be best suited with the 35 PSI truck boost gauge line kit, which allows you to read the stock pressure levels but also has the ability to monitor up to 35 PSI if you slightly tune your turbo. A newer diesel truck may experience higher boost pressure levels and will benefit most from using a 60 PSI gauge for readings. We recommend the 100 PSI Boost Gauge for diesel owners running very high boost levels who know when the 60 PSI is simply not enough. Mechanical Boost Gauges vs. Electronic Boost Gauges
The primary difference between GlowShift’s mechanical and electronic boost gauges is the way in which boost pressure readings are taken. Our mechanical boost gauges obtain pressure readings by using a vacuum hose that runs directly from the gauge to the vehicle’s intake manifold. Our electronically driven boost gauges use an electronic boost pressure sensor that is installed directly to the intake manifold and sends a signal to the gauge.
